10 THINGS TO DO WHEN YOU ARE BORED AT HOME
The world is in the middle of a crisis and I can't help it but I am bored practicing some voluntary self-isolation (which isn't new for me). Does being bored reduces our productivity, it definitely
reduces our will to live. So let's find out 10 things to do when we are
bored to death escaping death from Coronavirus!
READ A BOOK
When you bored and you know it read a book, when you bored and you know
it and you are really really bored, read a book. Everyone has a different taste
in books, you can read mystery, thriller, love story, self-help, biography; anything you like! We all have that one book we wish to read since however, use this
precious time you have on your hand and read it completely! I have started reading this
murder mystery by Paula Hawkins ‘Into the Water’ and so far it's amazing and if you
enjoy reading murder mysteries you can try ‘A girl on Train’ by the same
author, it is insanely amazing!
BINGE WATCHING
Reading is something not every person enjoys, another best way to spend
your time is binge-watching a great show. Netflix, amazon prime and Hotstar are
there for you in these difficult times with a string of options available. And
if you want some bones tickled, go watch these sitcoms I mentioned in my previous blog; 5 sitcoms everyone should watch....
ROOM DECOR
Now that we are supposed to spend 15 days of our lives trapped inside our
rooms, it wouldn’t be such a bad idea to redecorate it a little. Keeping tidy
is very important at this point in time, so if you aren’t interested in over
the top decorations just cleaning your room and wardrobe would keep you busy at
least for a day. Other than that, you can change your furniture placements, clean
that dirty pile of clothes lying on the "cursed Chair” since the 14th century and also for us dilli wale people putting away the winter clothes can be a time-consuming task.
EXERCISE
The benefit of the corona is mostly enjoyed by people who want a guilt-free
break from their gym. They have got the perfect excuse to miss the gym, it isn’t
safe and that’s totally valid. But that doesn’t permit you to sit at home and
eat tones of junk food because this holiday weight would go a long way! Exercising
at home or going for walks would be beneficial at this time. Use these days to
get that perfect shape you want. Its easier said than done but at least you can
try!
COOKING
Do you like eating; I am sure most of you do! Then you would enjoy
cooking as well. Cook meals for yourself and your loved ones. It can keep you busy and
obviously eating healthy is important to build your immunity. Cook away healthy
and yummy home food and enjoy it!
WRITE A JOURNAL
You don’t have to be a great writer to keep a journal. Be creative or just
write about your daily activities. You can also write a short story keep it
silly or whatever pleases you. You are not going to publish it anywhere so don't be too hesitant and who
knows you might after all have a knack for this and become the next best-selling
author! Here are some great titles for your journals, “15 days of house arrest”;
“My encounter with a pandemic”, "Life with Corona". You would have to buy the copyrights from me first, obviously!
TALK TO YOUR OLD BUDDIES… ON THE PHONE
You have the perfect excuse to catch up with your buddies, “Hey are you
alright? I hope you don’t have the virus” and two hours later repeat the same with another one! Catch up
their lives and share about yours, it’s a great way to spend a day or two depending
on the size of your phone book.
DOODLE, DRAW OR PAINT
Again, you don’t have to be an expert artist, just do it for fun and for
your own self. There are tones of YouTube tutorials on how to paint or draw just
use the simplest tools available with you and draw draw draw! Painting is said
to be therapeutic and many people paint to relax. You don’t have to be a Picasso
to relax!
ONLINE WINDOW SHOPPING
Some people love online window shopping, browsing through the clothes,
the make-up, the gadgets anything and saving it to the closet, aaah bliss. It is an entertaining and easy way to pass some time or almost a lifetime as in my case.
MAKEUP AND TRYING NEW LOOKS
It is almost a given that only women would be interested in makeup and
trying new looks and I fail to understand why? I am all on board for men paying
equal attention to skincare and the way they dress. Desperate time
calls for desperate measures, I suggest all the males to use this time to style
themselves better. It would a secret no one would ever know. Imagine after 15 days
all the males are nicely dressed with shiny skin and new looks, what a happy day it
would be for women! As
for the women, CLEAN YOUR MAKEUP BRUSHES AND SPONGES, you haven’t done it in a
while.
And finally, keep safe, remain indoors and educate as many people as possible with
the facts and precautions related to the coronavirus. Your social isolation
can help the world prevent a great disaster! Let’s all be introverts for a while.
