An Introduction to Interactive Blogging

Hello guys, I hope you all are in good health and happiness.

After dabbling in blogging for about six months I have decided to delve into something a bit more serious; something I support and want to promote, Self-care, and mental health. Over the past months, I have written blogs on various topics relating to humor, TV series, etc but now I wish to write more about dealing with stress, anxiety, and depression. I just think that I will be supporting a cause I so relentlessly believe in even if I proceed with a smaller audience. Around the globe, everybody is dealing with at least one form of anxiety or another. The pandemic, environmental concerns, and everything else happening in the world aren’t going to make it any easier. Sadly, however, mental health in India is still a topic that is deemed irrelevant. In India, WHO estimates that the burden of mental health problems is of the tune of 2,443 DALYs per 100,000 population, and the age-adjusted suicide rate per 100,000 population is 21.1. It is estimated that, in India, the economic loss, due to mental health conditions, between 2012-2030, is 1.03 trillion of 2010 dollars.

Mental health workforce in India (per 100,000 population) include psychiatrists (0.3), nurses (0.12), psychologists (0.07) and social workers (0.07). Still, we consider it as something that can be dealt with by simply ignoring the problem. The thing is how will our country progress if most of its citizens are unable to deal with stress and other problems?

I am not going to tell you the problem, if you are a millennial living in India you already must be knowing the problem. I will tell you about the solutions. Though I am not a professional therapist/psychologist or a certified practitioner, I do read a lot about mental health. It is said that introverts who are good at listening are somewhat therapists, this being my harmless argument. The thing is I will definitely understand if you won’t rely on what I have to tell you about mental health and your problems but you can do your own research to make decisions that are best suited for you.

What am I planning?

Instead of writing generic blogs like ‘How to deal with anxiety?’ or ‘How to overcome stress’, I want to delve into individualist troubles and problems, which is why I am starting this format of interactive blogging. I plan on writing blogs focusing on individual problems while maintaining the anonymity of the person, of course. I will try to provide the course of action or even books that might help with any of your problems. Although it might be an issue for one individual who is brave enough to cite it I think it will help numerous others.

I would attach a form for you to write your troubles/worries (you can write anonymously) and we will figure out a solution for your problem. Again, I am not saying that my solution would be the right one but it would be well researched and in the best capacity of what is deemed to be correct. I would post the detailed solution to that problem in my next blog (within the next 7 days) which can be helpful to many!
