Managing work efficiently : Interactive Blog
GOOD DAY PEOPLE
First of all, thank you for always showing a positive response towards my blogs, it keeps me motivated to write more!
Last week I posted a blog on Interactive Blogging (read here...) and I imagined absolutely zero responses from your side, but luckily for me, the number although not high wasn't a zero! I hope that more of you feel comfortable enough to share your problems after reading this blog and we can work out a solution to solve those problems.
For this week, I have chosen a topic that is very relevant these days 'A lot of work to do and how to manage it efficiently'. So, without further ado here are tips to manage your work and increase productivity ----

TO-DO LISTS
I can't emphasize this point enough. Making to-do lists has proven the most helpful way of increasing productivity for me. It helps you streamline your work, you can make to-do lists according to the priority of the task, most important activity followed by lesser important and so on. However, at times seeing a bulky list makes me anxious. To avoid that you can add simple tasks on your lists to make it look achievable; for example, add 'buying stationery' to your list or any such simple task so that your lists don't overwhelm you.
PROGRESS REPORTS
After making my to-do lists I prefer keeping progress reports as well. You can use PowerPoint/excel or a diary to maintain the records of your work. Since originally the question asked to me was managing my work and business, so for you maintaining reports is all the more important. For the rest of you no matter how big or small the tasks are, you will always feel good when you check your progress from time to time. You don't have to visit your progress reports every day, it can be done weekly or even monthly. Though it may seem that making reports is helpful only for official work it proves tremendously helpful in personal work as well. For example, having your own weight loss progress report, increasing your reading capacity progress report, progress reports for your personal and professional goals, etc.
DEFEAT THE DISTRACTIONS
There are many things that distract us from doing our work and managing them is very important if not defeating them completely. For some people, distractions can be social media websites for others it might be watching television instead of working. Sometimes we also let a less important task at hand distract us from doing something that really matters and is of priority right now. In order to defeat your distractions the best plan of action is to first recognize what distracts you the most and then work to reduce spending time doing that particular thing. Most people think that removing distraction completely would make it easier for them to focus on the work, however, it often ends up making you feel anxious and drawn towards whatever you gave away. So my go-to strategy is reducing the distractions and not abandoning them completely.
TAKING FREQUENT BREAKS
It is very important that you rejuvenate yourself from time to time and take frequent breaks spanned throughout your day. Avoid taking long breaks, take short frequent breaks, and preferably to walk around a little bit. It is very important for people who are working from home or attending classes from home. It is also important and useful if you take one day completely away from the usual work you do, it can be a Sunday or any other day of the week when you just don't follow your usual routine and do activities that make you feel relaxed and happy.
PROPER DIET
In order to improve productivity and work more efficiently, it is imperative that you take a good diet. Avoid foods that make you lethargic or sleepy.
BOOK RECOMMENDATIONS
Last but not least is this book that might help you in managing your work better, PRODUCTIVITY SUPERHERO by Dan Luca. Here's a little information about the book;
After working with several thousands of clients in the Productivity
trenches, Dan Luca has been able to clearly identify the patterns that
ignite Superhero Productivity in people, as well as those that block any
chance of great results.
As a result, Productivity
Superhero is structured to provide you:
• Bite-sized information for
daily intake that is not overwhelming but easy to digest and implement right
away.
• World-class strategies,
tools, and exercises that are science-based, time-proven, and client-tested,
so you don’t have to determine what works and what doesn’t.
• An ideal mix of discipline
and motivation.
